Rubinelli furniture

Our Story

The business was founded in 1892 by Pietro Rubinelli, a creative and skilled craftsman, who opened the workshop.

Pietro primarily dedicated himself to crafting furniture for churches: vestibules, altars, confessionals. Over time, the workshop became a true art school for crafting furniture and for its woodwork.

Meanwhile, his son Gaudenzio was growing up in the workshop. His remarkable artistic talents were evident at an early age and he later perfected his skills at the Grignasco School of Design, the Artigianelli Institute in Milan and the Regina Elena Institute in Ponte di Legno, obtaining degrees and receiving honours. In 1926, when he was just 19, Gaudenzio was commissioned to create the monument of San Martino in Fontaneto d’Agogna.

This work symbolizes the advent of tailored, custom furniture that today still represents the hallmark of the company. At that same time, the workshop began producing furniture on demand to meet specific customer requests, supported by creativity, professionalism and expertise.

Pier Giuseppe, a skilled entrepreneur, transformed his father’s business using a more modern and dynamic approach. He continued the artisan craftsmanship, the restoration work and the production of church decorations. In 1975, he opened the current showroom with his wife, Floriana Agazzone.

Besides producing its own furniture, the company also began marketing designers’ furniture and accessories of the leading brands, achieving the perfect balance between classic and innovative styles.

Cultural heritage has allowed RUBINELLI MOBILI to reach its fourth generation, with Pier Giuseppe’s three sons—Gaudenzio, Elena and Luciana. They continue producing furniture based on original designs or created by successful designers, to offer unique, personalized furnishing solutions in which the quality of the raw materials is of central importance.

The combination of avant-garde design, elegant shapes and attention to detail has led the company to establish itself both on the national and international markets, catering to a discerning and demanding clientele.

The official company logo, a chakra symbol, was created in 2001 and represents a vortex of multiple energies. It’s inspired by a monument built solely by sculptor Marcello Corrà. It is made up of three interconnected sectors forming a circle, symbolizing the enduring unity of the Rubinelli siblings, Gaudenzio, Elena and Luciana, who represent the company in the present day.

The materials selected, purposely oxidised iron and copper, aim to give the work a hint of historical importance, experience, solidity and maturity, acquired over the years.

In 2011, the company was entered into the Register of Historical Italian Companies, prestigious recognition of its continuity and expertise and its ability to adapt to changing times, trends and lifestyles.
